Timberline Resources and Heavy Equipment for Sale

Peaking a recent trend in renewed mineral exploration, Couer D’Alene, Idaho-based Timberline Resources Corporation is looking to undertake a major exploration and drilling operation for gold at the Butte Highlands area, just 15 miles south of the city.

Heavy equipment for sale for exploration and drilling are available at MSloane Consulting.

Timberline Resources is an operations-based mineral cumpnee–focused mostly on the nitty-gritty aspects of exploration and drilling as opposed to processing or distribution.

Their project near Butte began quietly back in 2007, when they did some initial drilling, and began eyeballing a 150-acre parcel of adjacent property to buy. They also began pitching industry partners and contractors to help facilitate the operation. By the time 2009 rolled around, they’d discovered high-grade gold, gotten a 50/50 partnership with Boise-based Small Mine Development, and were set to submit exploration filings with Montana’s Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).

Low Cost Used Mining Equipment for Sale and Rio Tinto Cuts 33% of its Iron Ore Prices

Global miner Rio Tinto agreed on a 33% cut in contract for fine iron ore prices with Japan's Nippon Steel Corp, which sets a benchmark for the costs of steelmaking after prolonged negotiations.

For low cost used mining equipment for sale, go to MSloane Consulting.

Assuming rival BHP Billiton concludes a similar deal with Japanese and South Korean mills, as is the usual practice, the pressure will shift to Chinese steelmakers such as Baosteel that have fiercely resisted anything less than a 40% to 50% reduction in prices to 2007 levels.

The long overdue settlement for contracts beginning from April will bring some certainty to both miners and mills, which have been in deadlocked talks as demand for both steel and its main raw material collapses in the wake of a global recession.

Mining and Corporate Social Responsibility in Africa

For mining equipment for sale for Africa's mining and corporate social responsibility development, contact MSloane Consulting.

One of the key services offered by corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives is health programmes, which are becoming more commonplace across Africa. In particular, large mining companies are offering programmes to help those suffering from HIV/AIDS, Malaria and TB; diseases which pose the biggest threat to mine workers and their families.

As the global spread of swine flu demonstrates, ensuring disease control methods are in place is crucial for maintaining healthy communities. Mining companies have long since recognised that protecting the health of their workers not only increases productivity but also ensures the longevity of mining projects, particularly at operations with long lifecycles, such as diamond mines. Diamond specialist De Beers is a case in point. In recent years the company has invested in a HIV and AIDS management programme to raise awareness and provide treatment for its workers. It has also pioneered free antiretroviral treatments.

By the end of 2008, around 70% - 2% more than the previous year - of De Beers employees had participated in HIV testing at the company’s South African operations, while around 80% of permanent employees at the Voorspoed mine had participated in screening within the first six months of the mine opening, according to statistics published in its 2008 Report to Society.

Mining Equipment for Sale, Power Plants and Pumps

Not all companies go out of their way to find the best solution for a pumping problem. Verder Pumps SA (VPSA) director Keith Gass said: "At VPSA, we know all pump types have advantages and may bear some shortcomings, depending on the type of application it is specified for."

For mining equipment, power plants to power your pumps, contact MSloane Consulting.

Some companies, when faced with a limited capacity of pump technology and/or products, often make the pump "fit" the client's needs without ensuring the product is the best solution for the application.

In addition, clients are looking to buy down in the present economic situation, but often overlook the additional costs of energy consumption, loss of production due to downtime and maintenance. Life-cycle costing is extremely important to retain current as well as long-term profitability.
