Annual copper output from Peru will increase to 500 000 tonnes by 2014, not including contributions from Antamina, Xstrata announced.
The bulk of its projected production would come from Las Bambas, which Xstrata recently said has a mineral resource of 1,13-billion tons with a copper grade of 0,77%.
The new estimate, published earlier this month, represents a 26% jump from the company's last forecast.
The Antapaccay project has resources of 720-million tons with a copper grade of 0,56%, the company said, which is a 38% increase from its previous estimate.
Feasibility studies on both projects are expected by the end of this year.
