Because of the quality of Cat equipment many models can be rebuilt for a second life. A Cat rebuild
is cost effective and Caterpillar is looking to China and its cheap labor costs and huge market for added revenue. I suspect that other companies specializing in rebuilds should look at possibly setting up operations in China as well.
I've made several contacts in China that are looking for Western Companies with rebuild expertize to form some sort of JV.
